What if my car shipment is delayed?

Call or email Rivalane and we get an updated estimate from the carrier. Delays usually come from weather, road closures, a mechanical problem on the truck or an earlier stop running late. Dates are estimates, so a delay is not a breach, but you should always know where the car is and when to expect it.

Most shipments arrive within the estimated window. When one does not, here is what to expect and what to do.

Common causes

Weather and road closures, a breakdown or tire problem on the truck, a mandatory driver rest period landing at an awkward time, and an earlier customer on the route who was not ready. None of these are within Rivalane's control, and our Terms and Conditions state that pickup and delivery dates are estimates for that reason.

What to do

Contact Rivalane on +1 855-748-2526 or support@rivalane.com. We contact the carrier, get the current location and a revised estimate, and pass it to you. If the driver has given you a direct number, you can also call the driver, but keep us informed so we can help if the answer changes.

What Rivalane cannot do

We cannot make a truck go faster, and we are not liable for losses or expenses caused by a delay, such as a rental car or a missed appointment. What we can do is keep you informed and press the carrier for accurate updates.

If a delay turns into no contact from the carrier at all, tell us immediately. That is a different situation and we treat it as one.
