New Hampshire to Florida pairs cover about 1,150 to 1,570 road miles, with a typical 3 to 5 days on the truck after loading. Manchester to Miami on an open trailer usually costs $850 to $1,300 for a sedan. Book two to three weeks ahead for a fall pickup, and have Florida insurance before titling.

How Car Shipping From New Hampshire to Florida Works

Most New Hampshire pickups bound for Florida leave the state heading south into Massachusetts. Cars from Manchester, Nashua, Concord and Laconia pass Nashua and then Worcester, Seacoast cars from Portsmouth and Dover go by Lowell before reaching Worcester, and Keene and Lebanon loads follow I-91 down the Connecticut River valley through Springfield. All 64 pairs we measured run past Hartford and New Haven, then take I-95 through New York City and New Jersey, around Baltimore and Washington, and south through Fredericksburg, Petersburg and Emporia. On a Manchester to Miami trip the halfway point lands near Dunn, North Carolina, between Wilson and Fayetteville, and the road then passes Florence, South Carolina, and Brunswick and Kingsland in Georgia. Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach deliveries keep going down the Atlantic coast past Fort Pierce; Orlando cars turn inland at Daytona Beach onto I-4 past Sanford; Tampa and Fort Myers loads cut inland on US 301 through Starke to Ocala, then take I-75 past Wildwood; and Tallahassee deliveries peel off west along I-10 by Lake City. One trailer holds several cars, so dispatch pairs New Hampshire pickups that sit close together, and your town and travel dates settle which southbound load the car joins.

How Much Does Car Shipping New Hampshire to Florida Cost?

Your quote depends on your vehicle, the exact pickup and delivery addresses, the season and the trailer type, so run the calculator for a figure on your dates.

The 64 New Hampshire and Florida pairs we measured range from about 1,154 road miles, Keene to Jacksonville, to about 1,569, Laconia to Miami. Most of that spread comes from the Florida end of the trip.

On the Florida side, a Manchester car covers about 1,180 miles to Jacksonville, 1,320 to Orlando, 1,340 to Tallahassee and 1,375 to Tampa, against roughly 1,525 to Miami. West Palm Beach, the closest of the three southeast coast cities, still sits within about 60 to 65 miles of the Miami figure.

Within New Hampshire the pickup town shifts the Miami distance by only about 70 miles. Keene, whose route runs down through Springfield, has the shortest drive of the eight towns we checked, Nashua and Manchester follow within about 30 miles of it, and Laconia in the Lakes Region has the longest.

Vehicle size and timing matter as well. A full size pickup or van takes more deck room than a compact car, and a fall pickup tends to price above an identical move in May or June. Be cautious with a quote far below the rest until a carrier has accepted the order, and put both addresses into our car shipping calculator for a realistic first number.

Season, pickup location and Florida city icons adding up to one price tag

For a running sedan, open transport from Manchester to Miami typically falls between $850 and $1,300. Jacksonville and Orlando drops tend to sit in the lower part of that range, and Laconia or Dover cars bound for Miami toward the top.

Allow about $100 to $200 extra for a large SUV, pickup or van. Expect a covered trailer to add roughly 40 to 60 percent over that open figure.

What moves a New Hampshire to Florida quote most:

  • Snowbird season. Through the fall, cars from New Hampshire and the rest of New England head south, trailers toward Florida fill earlier and prices tend to climb. From late spring through August, southbound trailers usually have more room.
  • The pickup address. A car near the main highways of the southern tier is quick to add to a passing load. A lake road near Laconia, a hill town in the west or a snowy driveway can move the meeting point to a lot nearby.
  • The Florida city. Jacksonville is the shortest delivery and Miami the longest, and guard gates at many southeast coast communities shift the handover outside the gate.

Treat a number well under this range with care until a carrier confirms it.

What Factors Actually
Influence Pricing on This Route?

Five things move the price on any lane: the vehicle's size, whether it runs, how easy each end is to reach, the season and the trailer type. Booking early protects your timeline, keeps pricing steady and reduces the risk of last-minute carrier changes.

Diagram showing smaller vehicles fitting more cars with higher capacity and larger vehicles fitting fewer cars with lower capacity.

Size decides how much deck space your vehicle takes and how many other cars fit alongside it. A standard sedan is the cheapest thing to move because it slots almost anywhere on the trailer. SUVs, pickups and vans take more room and usually cost more on the same lane.

Is It Cheaper to Drive or Ship a Car From New Hampshire to Florida?

Shipping Instead of Driving

Shipping suits a snowbird who would rather fly down for the season and find the car waiting, a couple moving south for good with two cars and one driver, or someone in Florida buying from a New Hampshire dealership. For a purchase like that, the New Hampshire sales tax guide sets out what a buyer from outside the state owes back home.

It also saves someone the return trip. Whoever drives the car to Miami still has about 1,500 miles to cover back to New Hampshire, usually as a one way flight after two or three nights on the road.

Driving the Route Yourself

When the whole household is heading south together and the car is already packed, driving can cost less, and we will say so. Manchester to Miami comes to roughly 24 and a half hours of driving by the distance-cities estimate, which usually means three days on the road with fuel, tolls, meals and two motel nights.

Shipping looks better once the owner is not riding along. Laconia to Miami is close to 1,570 road miles, and the person who drives it there either repeats that distance north or buys a ticket home.

How Long Does Shipping a Car From New Hampshire to Florida Take?

After loading, a New Hampshire car is typically on the trailer for 3 to 5 days. Keene or Nashua to Jacksonville, under 1,200 miles, can finish near the short end, while Manchester to Miami usually needs 4 to 5 days and Laconia to Miami can take the full window.

The days before pickup often weigh more. Assigning a southbound truck with space usually takes one to three working days from booking, longer in the fall rush.

A loaded hauler generally covers 400 to 500 miles per driving day. Manchester to Miami, at about 1,525 miles, comes to a bit over three driving days at the faster pace and close to four at the slower one, before the stops for other cars on the trailer. Offering a few possible pickup dates usually gets the car moving sooner.

When is the Best Time to Book Auto Transport From New Hampshire to Florida?

Fall is when southbound demand peaks. New Hampshire snowbirds and their neighbors across New England send cars south before winter, so Florida trailers book up early and prices often climb. Our snowbird season guide explains how a winter in Florida works for the car.

Book two to three weeks out for a pickup between September and November. The rest of the year a week or two is typically plenty, and giving dispatch a spread of dates instead of a single day helps it catch the next truck heading south with room.

Build in slack over the winter as well. From December through March, a storm or icy roads can push a New Hampshire pickup out by a day or two, more so on back roads than near the interstates.

Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport on a New Hampshire to Florida Route

Open transport carries most New Hampshire cars to Florida, on the same two level haulers that work I-95 every day. Across about 1,500 miles the car picks up the road dust and rain spots it would on a long drive, plus some salt film after a winter pickup.

Enclosed transport keeps the car under cover from the New Hampshire driveway to the Florida address. Covered trailers carry only a handful of cars, which makes each space pricier and quicker to sell out once the fall rush begins.

Collector cars, exotics, show vehicles and new paintwork are where the covered option pays off. Everyday sedans, family SUVs and most snowbird cars go open.

Enclosed Car Transport

Enclosed demand rises for high-value, specialty and seasonal vehicles, and enclosed trailers protect against road debris and weather, which matters most on longer hauls. Enclosed rigs are a small fraction of the trailers working any given lane, and that scarcity is what drives both the higher price and the longer booking lead time.

Open Car Transport

Most vehicles move on open trailers, and for most routes that is the more cost-effective way to ship a car.

Open transport works well for standard vehicles and keeps costs predictable. It also offers the widest carrier availability.

What Florida Requires When Your Car Arrives

Florida rules begin once the state counts you as a resident. FLHSMV treats things like taking work in Florida, enrolling children in Florida public schools, registering as a Florida voter, applying for a homestead exemption or living in the state for over six straight months as signs of residency.

  • Florida coverage first. The minimum is $10,000 of Personal Injury Protection plus $10,000 of Property Damage Liability, from a company licensed to sell insurance in Florida, kept in force through every day of the registration, parked or not.
  • A verified VIN. Someone authorized must check the number on HSMV 82042 or on the verification section of HSMV 82040. The people allowed to perform it are police officers and military police, licensed dealers in Florida, county tax collector employees and the compliance examiners of the FLHSMV Division of Motorist Services. Our walkthrough of Florida VIN verification explains the inspection.
  • The titling visit. For a paid off car, take the original out-of-state title, proof of Florida insurance, identification for all owners and HSMV 82040 signed by each of them. When a lender still has the title, request that it transfer the title to Florida; if it will not, take its refusal letter, printed on letterhead, to a service center and apply for registration with it. Owners with no Florida plate to transfer pay a $225 initial registration fee in person when the car is titled. Our Florida registration walkthrough covers the visit step by step.
  • Your driver license. Within 30 days of becoming a resident, trade the New Hampshire license for a Florida one.
  • The New Hampshire plates. The New Hampshire DMV says a move to another state does not require you to surrender your plates.

A season in Florida alone does not start any of this. A snowbird who has none of those signs in place, and no stretch past six straight months, has not met the residency test FLHSMV describes.

Sources: FLHSMV pages on new residents, insurance and motor vehicle registration, and the New Hampshire DMV vehicle registration FAQ. Both agencies update their rules from time to time, so check them again shortly before pickup.

What to Expect at Pickup and Delivery

Agree on each handover spot while the booking is being matched, because a loaded car hauler is a long vehicle that needs room to stop and turn.

In New Hampshire, most suburban streets around Manchester, Nashua and Concord let the truck stop near the driveway. Narrow downtown blocks in Portsmouth, steep or unpaved driveways in hill towns, lake roads around Laconia and plowed snowbanks in winter often send the driver to a shopping center lot or a wide road nearby.

In Florida, guarded communities and high rise condo buildings, common from Miami up to Palm Beach and along the Gulf coast, frequently keep large trucks outside, so the car is handed over at a parking lot or side street close by. In most Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville neighborhoods with houses on their own lots, the truck can usually stop right outside.

Before loading, you and the driver look the car over together, and any marks already on it go onto the bill of lading as the condition record. Photograph each side of the car with the date showing before it leaves New Hampshire, and compare the car with that record and your photos at delivery before you sign.

Key Things to Know Before Shipping a Car From New Hampshire to Florida

Rivalane coordinates New Hampshire to Florida car shipping from its Melville office on Long Island, placing each car on a southbound truck that still has space when it passes through the area. Book a fall pickup early, and if the move is permanent, plan for the Florida titling visit rather than a plate return, since the New Hampshire DMV does not require plates to be surrendered after a move to another state.
